Get out of town and take a dekko at Napier's outer Art Deco attractions
Experience Napier's Art Deco heritage. Visit the world famous sights, suburbs, buildings and landmarks of our town. This is a real experience and includes a lot of historical information about Napier's 1931 earthquake.
We take you through the Art Deco CBD to Marine Parade, and up to Bluff Hill for great views over the Port of Napier and the old Port of Ahuriri, where the Naval sloop Veronica was moored on the day of the 1931 earthquake in Hawkes Bay.
Then down the hill to historic Ahuriri and the world-famous National Tobacco Co building, which is open to the public on most weekdays for a look inside.
Finally we travel out to the Art Deco suburb of Marewa to show you the Deco houses and gardens before returning you to the city centre.
